Kampa’s name comes from the Spanish armies, which chose this strategic area cornered in the Vltava River to set up his camp during the Battle of the White Mountain, during the famous Thirty Years’ War. Today there are no remains of military memories in this gentle and comfortable area of the city.
This photograph of Kampa Island is part of Project 57, the artistic project that we make from the BoHo Hotel to show new corners and new perspectives of Prague. You can find it in a large-scale format in room 105 of our hotel.
