Kampa Island 003

6×9 negative color. A barge of tourists approaches, a group of English tourists yell at me -take a selfie! – while I close the opening of the camera with a piece of black tape.

Kampa Island

Kampa Island is one of the four largest island in the centre of Prague. Unlike the visible Strelecky, Kampa hides its island status because it remains joint to shore in the Mala Strana neighbourhood. Only when you consider the entire route of the Devil’s channel and its “island” vegetation, we realize the uniqueness of this island.

This photograph of Kampa Island is part of Project 57, the artistic project that we make from the BoHo Hotel to show new corners and new perspectives of Prague. You can find it in a large-scale format in room 003 of our hotel.
